Dormitory life enables our students to develop friendships and social skills with others from across the United States and around the world. House jobs help them learn to share responsibility for their own living space within the School and for the environment. EXTRA CURRICULAR OPPORTUNITIES The School offers various opportunities for leadership and personal growth on and off the campus. Clubs include the Astronomy, Chess, Debate, Chorale, The Literary Club that produces our Literary Magazine twice a year, and the Yearbook. Certain students, elected by their peers and faculty, serve as Student Leaders and they play an important role in the community. Each student is also assigned a daily house job to develop a sense of community through shared responsibility. Woodhall students share in social and recreational activities with nearby independent schools. Theatre, concert, and educational field trips to New York, Boston, New Haven, and Hartford, further enhance the educational program. COMMUNITY SERVICE The School's Community Service Program encourages students to be aware of others' needs and to reach out to those in need. Students help local community organizations such as the Bethlehem Land Trust, Flanders' Nature Center, Chapman Safe House, Bethlehem Elementary School, and the Christmas Town Festival. Each term, student leaders organize Campus Community Days. The Woodhall student who has contributed his time and energy in an outstanding manner to help others receives The Community Service Award at our Annual Convocation.
